At Front Row,
We are dedicated to celebrating the intersection of fashion, lifestyle, and beauty within and beyond Duke University's campus.
We view fashion and retail as more than fabrics and price tags. Instead, fashion offers us a lens into culture, identity, and the way people, brands, and business move together.
Our Philosophy
What we buy, wear, and promote says something about the moment we're in: shifting norms, new platforms, and the stories brands tell to stay relevant. From luxury to CPG, every purchase is a small vote for the world we want to live in.
College sits in a strange, specific middle ground. We’re figuring out taste, budget, and responsibility all at once: learning what it means to be a consumer on our own terms. That in-between shapes how we shop in ways that feel uniquely collegiate: sometimes responsible and sensible, sometimes impulsive and irrational, often a mix of both.
Front Row is where we unpack those contradictions: taste vs. budget, aspiration vs. impulse, campus culture vs. the wider retail landscape, and what they reveal about campus culture and the wider retail landscape.
We write for students who care about what they wear and why they wear it:
because fashion, at its best, is never just about clothes.
